The plug has been tested against international standards for protection against damage to equipment from electrostatic discharge (ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007). It's also RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) certified as containing minimal levels of hazardous substances.
