To reduce the risk of malfunctions and improve efficiency and reliability, the ball mechanism has a spherical shape that produces a tight seal to direct or cut off the flow of gases without leaking. When the system isn't in use, the default valve position of 'normally closed' (NC) prevents airflow. This keeps gases from escaping, reducing workplace health and safety risks.
