This Potentiometer from our own RS PRO brand is designed to be used for professional equipment to control electrical devices such as volume controls on audio equipment.
Most potentiometer knobs are simply fixed on manually with a simple push by fitting it to the shaft. They either have a knob, screw, grub, or slider as a fixture that is used as a control element to vary the resistance between the middle terminal and either one of the outer terminals for the potentiometer.
