It's made to accommodate a MicroSD card and has a 1.11mm pitch that's ideal for installation into portable devices. As this is a push-push type, you simply slot the card into place and press again to release. You can count on the connector's 8 fatigue-resistant phosphor bronze contacts to shrug off the rigours of frequent use.
You can install it directly onto a PCB using surface-mounting technology. This means it takes up less space than its through-hole counterparts.
The Molex 503398 series MicroSD Card Connector is a 1.1 mmm pitch, SMT, Push-Push type with Detect Switch and Anti Fly-Out feature. With a board height of 1.28 mm the 503398 series MicroSD Card Connector provides a very low profile compact design with a clean shell outline. The design of the 503398 series MicroSD Card Connector features: SMT tabs recessed within the outline of the shell, prevention of terminal stubbing, card polarization and anti card fly-out ramp.
