A tough and durable Stainless Steel compression fitting (or compression gland) for secure attachment of 3mm diameter thermocouple or RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors) probes to process fittings including flange plates, bulk heads, sealing sensors in vessels and thermowells or thermopockets.;The thermocouple compression fitting is constructed from high quality Stainless Steel for its excellent strength properties, corrosion and chemical resistance for a hardwearing BSPP compression fitting offering a quick and easy way to secure thermocouple probes at the right immersion depth. Ideal for use in harsh industrial environments.;Supplied in packs of 5, for packs of 1 see RS PRO 381-7362
A compression fitting comprises of an outer compression nut and an inner compression ring or ferrule also called an olive. The male thread of the fitting is screwed into the thermowell or bulkhead. The probe is then inserted into the aperture at the top of the fitting to the required length. The outer compression nut is then tightened which forces the olive to compress around the outer sheath of the probe. The probe is then held securely in place and a tight seal provided.
