This economical development platform with a surface-mount BASIC Stamp 2 microcontroller module was designed with beginners and student budgets in mind. It's compatible with Whats a Microcontroller?, Robotics with the Boe-Bot and most other Stamps-in-Class tutorials.
Built-in, surface-mount BASIC Stamp 2 microcontroller
BASIC Stamp I/O pins plus power connections adjacent to a 50 x 35mm breadboard
220Ω series resistors between the I/O pins and breadboard for wiring-error protection
On-board voltage regulator delivers up to 500mA for BS2 and breadboard circuits
LED connected to the BASIC Stamp 2 EEPROM clock line shows when a program is running
Reset button
9V PP3 snap-style battery clip with PCB holes for battery strap
Power requirements: 9V battery; BASIC Stamp 2 requires 7mA running, 50μA in sleep mode
Communication: USB mini-B to onboard RS-232 converter
