Lemo Series 0B Cable Plugs and Sockets

From Lemo, a range of circular metal plugs and sockets from the 0B series. The cable mount connectors feature a unique push-pull self-latching mechanism for safe and secure mating. The industrial circular connectors are G coded for higher contact density and prevent contact miss alignment with similar connectors. With 360° shielding for enhanced EMI performance, the 0B series of cable connectors are perfect for applications requiring high accuracy and interference-free signals. Cable mount plugs mate with a panel or PCB mount socket. Cable mount sockets mate with panel plugs.

Lemo Push-Pull Self-Latching Connection System

The self-latching system is simple and effective retention solution, providing complete protection against vibration, shock or any pull on the cable.

Engaging the system

To initiate the self-latching system the plug is simply pushed axially into its mating half. Once firmly latched in place via the internal latches the connection is virtually impossible to break. No amount of pulling on the cable or any other part of the connector body will release the two parts.

Disengaging the system

If the connection needs to be broken, a simple axial pull on the connector’s outer body release sleeve unlatches the internal mechanism. The plug can then be withdrawn from the socket separating the two halves.

Features and Benefits

• Compact profile for high-density applications
• Unique push-pull latching system for secure mating
• Vibration and shockproof
• 360° shielding for full EMC screening
• IP50 ingress protection
• G coded for higher contact density
• Solder termination
• Gold plated brass contacts
• Cable collets, strain relief and dust caps for extra protection available separately

Applications

Due to the 0B series compact size, the shielded connectors are ideal for applications in the industrial electronics sector. Some of the most common areas are

• Test and measurement equipment
• Sensors and actuators
• Instrumentation
• Medical devices
• Audio / video

Environment

With an IP50 rating, the 0B series by Lemo are only suitable for indoor applications which would not be subjected to the elements. They are moderately dustproof, but not waterproof and should therefore not be exposed to water or used in harsh environments.

FAQ

Q – Are there any accessories available?
A – There is a range of dust caps for the 0B series. The dust caps provide extra protection when the connectors are not in use. See typical stock numbers 178-9057, 178-9085 and 178-9114
A – There is a range of strain relief boots and collets for the 0B series. These provide extra protection for the cable entry into the connector. See typical stock numbers 215-6026, 215-6048 and 215-6054

OB Series – Metal

A compact range of free cable plugs (9·5mm dia.) which mate with either panel mount or PCB mount sockets, all incorporating PEEK insulating material. Free plugs and panel sockets contain solder bucket contacts. Cable plugs will mate with Chassis, PCB or cable sockets. The cable plugs and sockets are supplied with a large collet for cable ODs up to 5mm and are fitted with strain relief back nuts. Smaller collets and black strain relief boots are available separately. They are ideal for instrumentation, medical and nuclear applications, plus many other special industry requirements.
