What is an axial AC Fan?
An axial fan is a device that creates airflow by using a motor to rotate blades housed within in a square or round frame. The rotating fan blades draw air into the fan and expel the flow in the same direction across a surface to cool it. Axial fans are a vital component ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and electronic equipment. Keeping equipment cool is crucial as overheating can lead to serious complications including premature deterioration of parts, shorter life spans and sometimes, complete failure.
W2S130 Tube axial AC Fans
The W2S130 Series of Tube axial fans from ebm-papst provide a convenient, cost effective solution for all your cooling requirements. The compact high performance equipment cooling fans are designed to generate high volumes of air at low pressures. The low noise energy saving fans constructed from a diecast aluminium frame with a black coated impeller. The impedance protected shaded pole motor is integrated into the central fan hub.
Key Features and Benefits of the W2S130 ebm-papst Axial Fans
Compact dimensions, enables fans to be incorporated into equipment where component mounting space is limited.
Robust aluminium construction, ideal for industrial applications.
Black coated sheet steel impeller, directly welded onto rotor.
Expertly designed aerodynamic fan blades supporting excellent efficiency and low noise levels.
Impedance protected shaded pole motor, protects the fan motors from burning out if the rotor locks.
Maintenance free ball bearing system, supporting excellent performance and life expectancy
Balanced in two planes according to DIN ISO 1940
IP20 dust ingress protection
Q and A's
How is the fan mounted?
The W2S130 fans have 2 x 4.35 mm / 4.45 mm holes in the two outer corners of the circular frame for mounting into a panel.
How is the fan connected?
The W2S130 fans are connecter via a 330 mm 22 AWG wire starting from the wall ring.
Are there any accessories available?
Finger guards are purposely designed to prevent contact with rotating parts and the ingress of foreign particles. A galvanised steel guard is available separately. See part number 434-9797
Applications
Axial fans are utilised across all areas of industry where the cooling of components, machines and hardware is essential. Some of the most common applications are;
Electrical cabinets and enclosures – Axial fans installed into enclosures and cabinets to cool components preventing premature failure.
Server racks – Fans are used to keep hubs, routers and data patch panels cool.
Production lines or areas where motors are in use constantly, helping to prolong motor and gearbox life.
