RS PRO Cage Nuts
These RS PRO cage nuts are steel square nuts with a spring steel surround which wraps around the nut like a cage. The cage has two wings that when compressed or pinched together it can then be inserted into a square hole. The wings are then released to hold the cage nut in place. They are quick and easy to install and are ideal for mounting front panels to slide systems and instrument housings.
These caged nuts from our RS Pro range, also known as a captive nut, are available in M5 and M6 thread sizes. They can be assembled quickly and therefore speeds up the assembly process. Once installed, the fastener is hidden but the head of the screw is visible. Cage nuts can be used with racks and these fasteners help to create a secure and well-supported system that can be easily changed when the need arises.
