OSRAM SFH 7060 BIOFY Sensor
The BIOFY Sensor (SFH 7060), from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, is an integrated optoelectronic sensor. The BIOFY sensor is specifically designed for measuring pulse/heart rates and blood oxygen levels. It comes in a unique and compact, black package with opaque dividers between emitters and sensors. The SFH 7060 is a development of the BIOFY Sensor that uses combination of previous SFH 7050 and SFH 7051 devices. It also offers improved power consumption and signal quality.
This multichip device features three green LEDs (530 nm), one red LED (660 nm) and one IR LED (950 nm). The BIOFY Sensor SFH 7060 also contains a high-sensitivity photodiode with a large surface area for maximising signal level.
The SFH 7060 works by using the LEDs to shine light into the skin. The blood and surrounding tissue then absorbs different amounts of light. Any additional light that is not absorbed is returned to the detector. The different absorption measurements and LED wavelengths are used to read the pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation level.
Designed for measuring pulse rates and blood oxygen levels, the SFH 7060 BIOFY sensor forms part of OSRAMs fitness tracking sensor family. It is ideal for use in mobile and wearable devices such as smart watches and fitness trackers.
