Evaluation Board for uPower Toxic Gas Detector Application
An evaluation board from Analog Devices demonstrating a toxic gas detection circuit utilizing the AD7798 16-Bit Sigma-Delta ADC. The single-supply, low-power battery operated circuit uses an Alphasense CO-AX Carbon Monoxide sensor and is ideally suited for portable, battery powered instruments.
The use of electrochemical sensors offer several advantages for instruments that detect or measure the concentration of many toxic gases as most are gas-specific and have usable resolutions of under one part per million (ppm) of gas concentration.
